Oskar Beyer (architect, 1849)

Oskar Beyer (born February 23, 1849 in Dresden ; † March 22, 1916 in Vienna ) was a German architect working in Vienna .

Beyer studied first in Dresden and then from 1868–1871 with Josef von Storck at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna . Beyer was active as an architect, but also in teaching. From 1871 to 1873 Beyer worked in the construction and decoration office of the world exhibition in Vienna . In 1894 he became the chief architect of the Austrian department of the world exhibition in Antwerp .

In 1872 Beyer became a lecturer and from 1878 was professor at the Kunstgewerbeschule (technical school for architecture) for 31 years. 1905–1906 and 1908–1909 he took over their management.

Oskar Beyer was married to Emma Krause (born August 25, 1846).
