Oskar Palm

Nils Gustaf Oskar "Osse" Palm (born January 21, 1904 in Stockholm , † September 10, 1957 ibid) was a Swedish football player .

Career

Palm first played at Djurgårdens IF . Before the start of the Allsvenskan first season in the summer of 1924, he moved to local rivals AIK . On August 3 of the year he made his competitive debut for the new club in the opening match of the league when they met Västerås IK in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium at home . Surprisingly, the outsider went through a goal by Gösta Ståhlin the lead, but the game was turned around because of two goals from Palm and won 5-1. He also scored two goals in the next two games, leading AIK to the top of the league at the start of the season. However, this remained his only goalscoring in the debut season, so that he came to a statistic of ten games and six goals in his first year in the Swedish elite series. In his second season he played seven more times for AIK in the Allsvenskan and scored five goals this season. This put him in second place in the internal goalscorer list behind Per Kaufeldt . The highlight was the game against IFK Gothenburg on May 13, 1926. In the 3-1 win, AIK's first win against Gothenburg since 1920, he scored all three goals. After two seasons at AIK, Palm left the club.

Initially, Palm hired at Reymersholms IK , but returned after a season to his home club Djurgårdens IF. There he played again in the Allsvenskan and added nine first division appearances and two more goals to his playing career.

Palm's family owned several gas stations and a taxi company.
