Oskar Schepp

Oskar Schepp (* 1900 in Heidelberg ; † 1986 there ) was a German painter and art teacher. In his work he preferred watercolor, pastel, pencil, charcoal and ink.

Life

Schepp was born in Heidelberg in 1900. During his studies at the State Bauhaus in Weimar from 1920 to 1924 there were close contacts with Oskar Schlemmer , Paul Klee and Lionel Feininger . He then lived as a freelance painter in Berlin , St. Moritz and Heidelberg .

From 1954 to 1974 he also worked as an art teacher at the grammar school of the English Institute in Heidelberg.

From 1979 until his death he was a member of the Heidelberg artist group 79 .

He lived in a villa on the Neckar and was the landlord of the Werner family of chemists.

He was awarded the Hartlaub Medal of the Heidelberger Kunstverein in 1980.
