Oskar Srnka

Oskar Srnka (born November 17, 1884 in Jamnitz , † April 19, 1966 in Bayreuth ) was a Czech electrical engineer, university professor and rector at the German Technical University in Brno . His specialty was low-voltage and electrical engineering with a focus on electrical telecommunications .

Life

Srnka studied at the electrotechnical department of the German Technical University in Brno, where he graduated in 1908. In 1912 he received his doctorate. tech. In 1915, Srnka was admitted as a private lecturer for electrical telecommunications technology by the professorial college of the German Franz Joseph Technical University in Brno. He held this position until 1921, at the same time he taught from 1919 as an honorary lecturer in electrical engineering, wireless telegraphy, telegraphy and telephony, as well as railway signals and security systems. From 1921 to 1926 he was an associate professor and from 1927 a full professor for low-voltage technology in Brno. From 1930 to 1932, as dean , he headed the mechanical engineering school and electrotechnical department. In 1935 he became rector of the German Technical University in Brno.

Srnka lived in Brno and had been with Anna, geb. Haas, married.

In 1914 Srnka received the patent for the simultaneous multiple telegraphy on one wire.
