Oskar Varnhagen

Oskar Max Varnhagen (born September 4, 1873 in Arolsen ; † February 6, 1956 in Korbach ) was a German lawyer and politician ( NLP , DVP ).

Varnhagen was the son of Robert Varnhagen and his second wife Hedwig nee Kneuper. He married Linda Meta Marie Rösener on June 8, 1918 in Arolsen.

Varnhagen studied law and had been a lawyer in Korbach since 1909. In the Reichstag election in 1912 he ran for the NLP in the Waldeck-Pyrmont constituency , but was unable to qualify for the runoff election with 2037 votes or 17.4% . After the November Revolution, he joined the DVP and stood in the election for the constitution-making Waldeck-Pyrmont state representation in 1919 as its top candidate. From 1919 to 1929 he was a member of the State Representation of the Free State of Waldeck-Pyrmont . In 1922 he joined the Waldeckische Landeswahlverband (a joint list of DVP and DNVP), in 1925 as a middle class association .
