Osman Waqialla

Osman Waqialla عثمان وقيع الله(* 1925 in Rufa'a , al-Jazira ; † January 4, 2007 ) was a Sudanese calligrapher.

He was born on the banks of the Blue Nile . He studied at Gordon Memorial College ( Khartoum ) and Camberwell College of Arts ( London ). He later studied with the master calligrapher Sayyid Muhammed Ibrahim in Egypt.

He worked as a teacher in Sudan and for the British company De La Rue .

He had a son with his first wife and two daughters with his last wife, the Chinese calligrapher Zhara. He died of malaria at the age of 81.
