An Ottoman turban helmet is a late medieval type of helmet from the Ottoman Empire .
description
An Ottoman turban helmet is usually made of steel. He's in one piece, or two halves driven . The helmet bell usually tapers to a point and has a round or onion-shaped end piece at the top. The outside of the helmet bell is made similar to a turban . The grooves of the turban structure can be shown rounded outwards or inwards. An adjustable visor rail (nose iron ) is often attached, which with the help of a wing screw can be pushed in front of the face or up to the helmet if necessary. Some specimens are decorated with silver or gold engravings or inlays ( inlays ). Chain armor is usually attached to the lower edge of the helmet, reaching down to the shoulders and protecting the neck from blows. The lower edge is often reinforced by a riveted second edge. These helmets are about 55 cm high and weigh about 1.6 kg. There are several different versions that differ in height and decoration.
