The Ostryy Point ( Russian Мыс Острый Mys Ostry , German 'Angular Cape' ) is an ice point of the ice shelf belt on the Princess Astrid coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It forms the west side of the entrance to Leningradskiy Bay .
Participants in a Soviet Antarctic expedition mapped it in 1959 and gave it its descriptive name. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Russian name in 1970 in an adapted partial translation into English.
