history
Designed in February 1937, the children's railway opened on November 8, 1939. It was originally located on the outskirts of the workers' town of Irkutsk and initially had a length of one kilometer. In 1992 it was moved to the islands of Junost and Konni, and ten years later, in 2002, the first station of the station complex was opened at Solnechnaya Station (the only one after the move). There is a classroom, a library and a museum of the history of the Russian railways. In 2003 two more stops were put into operation: Rodniki and Angara. At the same time, the children's railway was named after Georgi Ignatjewitsch Tetersky, a volunteer railway worker, head of the combined East Siberian and Krasnoyarsk network from 1968 to 1979.
Rail vehicles
The children's railway has four diesel locomotives:
In 2007 the TU2-228 locomotive was brought to the Slyudyanka depot. In 2008 the TU2-053 locomotive was modernized in the depot.
