East Timorese national basketball team

The East Timorese national basketball team for men is the selection team of the Federação Nacional de Basquetebol de Timor-Leste (FNBTL) and represents it on an international level. The national association had been a member of FIBA Asia since November 2013 , but was reclassified to FIBA Oceania in August 2015 to promote the development of East Timorese basketball .

The team made their first appearance at the Jogos da Lusofonia in 2006 ; there the East Timorese lost all five games by a huge margin and finished last. There was a break of nine years until the next international appearance at the Southeast Asian Games in 2015 ; here, too, all five games were clearly lost and East Timor was again in last place. The best result was the 57:83 defeat against Myanmar .
