Oswald Marr

Oswald Marr (* 29. March 1947 in Schmölz ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was from December 1998 to December 2016 District Administrator of the district Kronach .

Life

Marr completed a commercial apprenticeship. He belonged to the Federal Border Guard with the rank of Master of the BSG and worked at the Coburg location. Further stations in his career were working in the district treasury at the Kronach district office and as head of the administrative office of the district administrator.

At the local level, Marr acted as treasurer for the municipality of Ebersdorf near Coburg . From 1978 to 1990 he was a member of the municipal council of Küps and was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. From 1978 to 1981, and again from 1990 to 1998, he was a district councilor in the Kronach district. From May 1, 1990 to December 20, 1998, Marr held the post of First Mayor of Küps.

Marr successfully ran for election to the district administrator for the district of Kronach and took up this position on December 21, 1998. In 2004 and on July 4, 2010 (66.17 percent of the vote) he was re-elected for six years; the term of office ends on December 20, 2016. In the 2016 election, he decided not to run again. The CSU politician Klaus Löffler was elected as his successor.

Marr is a Protestant, has been married since 1967 and has three children.
