Othmar Nacovsky

Othmar Nacovsky (born October 31, 1931 in Vienna ; † April 4, 2009 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and postal worker. From 1982 to 1992 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament and a local politician in the community of Seekirchen am Wallersee .

education and profession

Nacovsky attended elementary school in Vienna between 1938 and 1942 and then attended a secondary school in Vienna from 1942 to 1944. He learned the trade of shoemaker and moved to Seekirchen am Wallersee in 1954. From 1957 to 1992 he worked as a post office clerk with the rank of chief inspector at Österreichische Post AG.

Politics and functions

Nacovsky joined the Socialist Party of Austria in 1958 and held the office of SPÖ local party chairman in Seekirchen am Wallersee from 1973 to 1985. He was also active at the district level from 1984 to 1990 as district chairman of the SPÖ Flachgau and was a member of the SPÖ state party presidency in Salzburg between 1982 and 1990. Nacovsky was also involved in local politics, where he was a member of the municipal council of Seekirchen am Wallersee from 1969 to 1999 and from 2002 to 2004. He was also chairman of the SPÖ community representatives from 1974 to 1984. He stood for the SPÖ in the Salzburg state elections in 1979 and moved up as a member of the Salzburg state parliament on February 17, 1982. He was a member of the state parliament until June 30, 1992. From 1991 Nacovsky was regional chairman of the Salzburg Pensioners' Association. In 2009 he resigned from his position as state chairman.

Private

Nacovsky married his wife Elisabeth in Seekirchen and had a daughter. He had heart surgery in 1989.
