Ottenberg is a district of the municipality of Tettenweis in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau . Ottenberg is located in the Rottal about two kilometers southeast of Tettenweis.

history

The Chastner von Ottenberg have been documented since 1387. In the following years they called themselves almost exclusively gentlemen from Ottenberg zu Inzing. Since 1492, the Geltinger family has met Ottenberg as owners of half of Hofmark . The fiefdoms of the two shares changed frequently until Count Ferdinand Joseph von Hörwarth succeeded in uniting both parts of the Hofmark in his hand in 1719. In 1752 the Hofmark, which was subject to the Griesbach Regional Court , was owned by the von Schrenk family and in 1758 by Georg Alois von Doss. In 1780 it belonged to the mayor of Landshut Joseph von Axthalb.

The Ottenberg patrimonial court emerged from the Hofmark , and when the community was formed in 1818, Ottenberg became part of the Poigham community. In 1867 the place consisted of eleven houses with 77 inhabitants. In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria Ottenberg came with the dissolution of the municipality of Poigham on July 1, 1970 to the municipality of Tettenweis.
