Location of Ottensen in Lower Saxony

Ottensen ( Low German Ottens ) is a district of Buxtehude in Lower Saxony to the southwest . Ottensen was first mentioned in a document on the occasion of the donation of the Buxtehude monastery around 1197. The exact origin of the place name is unclear.

The ramparts on the Este (river) opposite Heimbruch , south-east of Ottensen on the lily of the valley hill, are prehistoric testimonies , the origin of which is not fully understood, as well as the large boulder that was found in Ottensen and is located in the village center, near the primary school .
