Ottmar Fuchs

Ottmar Fuchs (born May 6, 1945 in Buch , Erlangen-Höchstadt district ) is a German theologian . From 1998 to 2014 ( emeritus ) he was a full professor for practical theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen .

Life

Ottmar Fuchs studied philosophy and theology at the Universities of Bamberg and Würzburg . After ordination in 1972, he worked as a chaplain in the parish of St. Michael in Nuremberg and as a student pastor and mentor for lay theologians in Bamberg. In 1977 he did his doctorate with the pastoral theologian Rolf Zerfaß at the University of Würzburg with the dissertation speaking in contrasts. Opinion and counter-opinion in church speech . 1981 followed the habilitation for pastoral theology, also in Würzburg. In the winter semester 1981/82 he became a full professor for pastoral theology and kerygmatics in Bamberg. In 1998 he moved to the chair for practical theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen, where he was the Dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty from 2000 to 2004 . He is a member of the Bund New Germany .
