Ottmar Pohl

Ottmar Pohl (born May 14, 1933 in Cologne ; † January 11, 1991 there ) was a German CDU politician .

education and profession

Ottmar Pohl attended elementary school and high school, where he graduated from high school in 1953. He studied law at the University of Cologne and passed the first state examination in 1957. In 1959 he received his doctorate. jur. After attending the administrative college in Speyer , he passed the second state examination in 1962. Pohl later worked as a government councilor.

politics

Ottmar Pohl had been a member of the CDU since 1953. From 1955 to 1991 he was a member of the Cologne district party congress and from 1961 to 1991 chairman of the local district association of the CDU Cologne on the right bank of the Rhine as well as a member of the party executive. He acted as district chairman of the CDU Cologne city from 1982 to 1990. Pohl was also a member of the board of the regional association of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1969 to 1970 he was a member of the Cologne City Council .

Ottmar Pohl was a member of the 7th , 8th , 9th , 10th and 11th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from July 26, 1970 until his death on January 11, 1991 , to which he entered via the state list. In the state parliament he worked from 1963 to 1970 as a scientific assistant to the CDU state parliamentary group, from 1971 to 1980 as parliamentary manager of the CDU state parliament group. From 1975 to 1985 and 1987 to 1990 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. He was treasurer of the CDU parliamentary group from 1990 to 1991.

Memberships

Pohl was a member of the German Association of Civil Servants from 1970 to 1991. From 1965 to 1971 and again from 1985 he was deputy chairman of the West German Broadcasting Council . He was a member of the supervisory board of Westdeutsche Werbefernsehen GmbH from 1986 to 1991.
