Career

Braune belonged to VfB Leipzig as a midfielder and played his point games from 1902 to 1904 in the championships organized by the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs in the Gau North-West Saxony , next to the Gau East Saxony , one of the two regional highest divisions. As the winner of the Gau Nordwestsachsen emerged, he played on May 3, 1903 against the Dresdner SC , the winner of the Gau Ostsachsen, for the Central German Championship; the game in Dresden was won 4-0.

Due to the success, qualified for the final round of the German championship , he made his debut on May 10, 1903 in the 3-1 quarter-final victory over the BTuFC Britannia 1892 from Berlin.

After his club was also successful in the semifinals on May 17th with 6: 3 against Altona FC 93 , they moved into the final. In this, reinstated, he was with the 7-2 victory over DFC Prague on May 31, 1903 in Altona German champion.

The same constellation arose in the following season, but the final of the Central German Championship, originally planned for June 5, 1904 in Leipzig, was not held and was postponed to June 19, 1904. This game was also not played, so it was decided in a meeting on July 23, 1904 not to play the final because of a tight schedule. As the defending champion, VfB Leipzig had already been registered for participation in the final round of the German championship. Braune only played the semi-finals, won on May 15, 1904 3-2 after extra time against Duisburg SpV .

However, the final against BTuFC Britannia 1892 , scheduled for May 29, 1904 in Kassel , did not take place. The Karlsruher FV had lodged a protest against the rating of this championship at the DFB. The DFB had not complied with the schedule of the final round matches in a neutral location; as a result, the final was canceled in the morning and the championship final was annulled.
