Otto Conrad (born September 17, 1901 in Ilsfeld ; † March 29, 1988 in Ludwigsburg - Oßweil ) was a Southwest German teacher and local researcher .

biography

Conrad came from an old Ilsfeld family, attended a teacher training college and was a teacher in Lomersheim , Hertmannsweiler and most recently the principal of the elementary and secondary school in Ludwigsburg-Oßweil. As a young teacher he was interested in the early history of his homeland and made the first discoveries during excavations, including a Celtic amulet and a Stone Age knife. From the 1920s onwards, he published many articles on historical topics relating to his hometown of Ilsfeld. One of his achievements is the collection of the names of emigrants as well as those who left and fallen from the First World War in the Ilsfeld community's Golden Book. His best-known writings are Geschichte der Schule in Ilsfeld (1932) and Kleine Heimatkunde von Ilsfeld (1952). He also made numerous contributions to Ilsfeld's work, Past and Present , published in 1989 .
