Otto Johannes Josef Maria Eschweiler (born October 2, 1931 in Aachen ) is the former managing director of the Aachen Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Dutch honorary consul and sponsor of RWTH Aachen University .

education

Professional background

In December 1955, Eschweiler began working as a scientific assistant at the Aachen Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK). In 1962 he became managing director for the areas of economics, industry and trade, international economic relations and public relations. At the same time he was appointed Deputy General Manager. In 1971 the general assembly appointed him general manager of the IHK. He held this position until his retirement in 1997.

Scientific activities

From 1987 to 1998 Eschweiler held a teaching position at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen, Faculty of Economics. In 1981, Eschweiler drafted the first German cooperation agreement between a technical university and an IHK in the field of science funding. German-Dutch relations

On October 30, 1989, Eschweiler took over the Dutch honorary consulate in Aachen. He resigned from office in 2001.
