Otto Georg in Münster-Langelage

Count Otto Georg zu Münster-Langelage (born November 18, 1825 in Schandau , † February 9, 1893 in Blasewitz ) was a German district chief and member of the Reichstag.

Life

He was born as the second son of the Royal Saxon Chamberlain and District Forester Hermann Adolf Ernst Graf zu Münster , Freiherr von Oër (1779-1838) and his wife Marianne Charlotte von Metzsch-Reichenbach (1797-1869). On November 6, 1866, he married Mathilde Walpurgis Amalie von Watzdorf (* 1840) in Störmthal, with whom he had four children.

In 1871 he was elected to the German Reichstag for the constituency of Saxony 23 (Plauen) for the Liberal Reich Party. He was Amtshauptmann the Amtshauptmannschaft Rochlitz and Amtshauptmannschaft Plauen . After a few months of tenure as District Chief of Zwickau , he was in October 1876 in succession to Leonce Freiherr von Könneritz (1835-1890) District Chief of Leipzig. As the Royal Saxon Real Privy Councilor and House Marshal, he was in this office from 1876 to 1887. When he left, he was made an honorary citizen of the city of Leipzig.

Two of today's streets in the Reudnitz district of Leipzig were originally named after Otto Graf zu Münster, Freiherr von Oer: the "Münsterstrasse", which had existed since 1887, became the "Obere Münsterstrasse" (today: Albert-Schweitzer-Strasse) and the "Untere" in 1891 Münsterstrasse ”(later:“ Gelbkestrasse ”, today: Kippenbergstrasse).

In 1847, Count zu Münster became a member of the Leipzig Corps Guestphalia I and Misnia III .
