Otto Grube (born December 5, 1905 in Peine , † November 27, 1958 ) was a German social democratic politician and functionary.

Life

Grube became a bricklayer after elementary school. From 1924 he was a member of the free trade unions and the socialist youth workers . He later became chairman of the SPD in Schwarzenmoor and the local Reichsbanner . He was secretary in the construction workers' association of Herford district .

During the Nazi era , Grube was the organizational leader of an illegal socialist group until 1939. This distributed leaflets smuggled in from abroad in East Westphalia and in the state of Lippe . Grube was a soldier between 1940 and 1945.

After returning from captivity in 1945, Grube became party secretary for the SPD subdistrict of Herford. In addition, from 1946 he was a city councilor and deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in Herford.

Grube was a directly elected member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1947 until his death for various Herford constituencies from the first to the fourth electoral term.
