Otto Kübler (Abbot)

Otto II. Kübler also Oddo Kübler (* in Ellwangen ; † February 21, 1672 in St. Blasien ) was abbot of the St. Blasien monastery in the Black Forest from June 22, 1664 to 1672 .

Career

He received his training in music and composition from Girolamo Frescobaldi . He visited different cities such as Prague, Vienna, Innsbruck and Rome. He went on one of his trips to Italy together with his predecessor Franz Chullot . Kübler built the chapel (destroyed in 1639) in Sinkingen near Fischbach and the church in Birkendorf . He completed buildings that were started under Franz Chullot. These include the Gurtweil Castle and the Berau Monastery (1665). He had modifications made to the convent building.

Kübler was a patron of the arts. In addition to jewelry and vestments, a large monstrance was made.
