geography

Fischbach is an irregular village complex on the Fischbach and is located 5 km northwest of Niedereschach.

history

Fischbach was first mentioned in 1275 as Vischibach , in the 14th century as Vispach and in 1455 as Vischbach . It was an early medieval settlement. Rights of the Counts of Fürstenberg in the area seem to have come to the Münzer von Sinckingen. A process between these and Rottweil ended in 1457 with the town being awarded the village of Zwing, Bann and Courts. Fischbach belonged to the stalking department of the city of Rottweil. In 1803 it fell to Württemberg and was subordinated to the Rottweil Regional Office. The affiliation to the Grand Duchy of Baden took place in 1810 through an exchange contract, where it came to the office of Villingen.

Since July 1, 1974 it has been part of the Niedereschach community.

administration

The former municipality of Fischbach includes the villages of Fischbach and Sinkingen, the district of Vorderweiler, the Pfaffenberg homestead (courtyards) and the houses Auf dem Bühl, Eichbühl and Kirchhalde.
