geography

Schabenhausen is a loosely built village made up of individual teeth and groups of courtyards on the red sandstone plateau. It is 2.5 km west of Niedereschach.

history

Schabenhausen was probably first mentioned in 1086 as Husen , and in 1094 as Scheibenhusen . It was an early medieval expansion site. The first mention is recorded in the founding reports of the St. Georgen Monastery . A local aristocratic family is possibly occupied as early as 1086 with Ulrich von Husen until 1344, which was probably owned by the local rulers. In 1483, the Niedereschach community sold the whole of Schabenhausen. Formerly by Heinrich von Baustetten zu Horgen, Schabenhausen came into the possession of the St. Georgen Monastery in 1502. It was in the St. Georgen Monastery Office until 1806, when it was transferred to the Wuerttemberg Regional Office in Rottweil. The affiliation to the Grand Duchy of Baden took place in 1810, where it came to the office of Villingen.

Since December 1, 1971 it has been part of the Niedereschach community.

administration

The former community of Schabenhausen includes the Zinken Altbad, Auf den Höfen, Bei der Mühle, Im upper Loh, Kohlerberg, Kohlwald, Mittendorf (Beim Neubad), Unterdorf (Bei der Krone), the Hasenstall, Lohhof and Schlössle farms and the Bärleswies residential area.
