Ottoissenberth (born February 26, 1893 in Landshut ; † August 3, 1919 in the Bavarian Alps ) was a German fighter pilot in World War I and holder of the order Pour le Mérite .

Pilsenberth registered for the air force in 1914 as an engineer out of technical interest . At the end of 1914, after completing his pilot training, he joined the Bavarian Aviation Department 8b. On March 21, 1915, he was seriously wounded on a mission flight over the Vosges . After his recovery on July 8, 1915, transferred to the Bavarian Air Force Division 9b, he fought in the Vosges and in Italy . In 1916 he joined the Combat Single Seat Command (KEK) Ensisheim , where he achieved 3 confirmed aerial victories by October 12th. In the summer of 1917 he joined the Jagdstaffel (Jasta) 16b, where he shot down two Société de Production des Aéroplanes Deperdussins and a tethered balloon. On August 4, 1917, Pilsenberth took command of the Jasta 23b.

Issenberth flew an Albatros DV with yellow and white edelweiss on the fuselage. After more than 12 victories in the air on this aircraft, he achieved his 19th and last victory with a captured Sopwith Camel . Two weeks later, on May 29, 1918, he was seriously injured in a crash landing with this aircraft.

After his recovery, Lieutenant Pilsenberth became the commandant of the military flight school in Schleissheim . He survived the war, but died on August 3, 1919 in a climbing accident in the Bavarian Alps .
