Live and act

During the Weimar Republic, Klement worked in Berlin as an agent for theater and film actors. As a result of the seizure of power in 1933, the Jew fled Germany and settled in England . There Klement and his British colleague Robert Garrett produced two films as part of the Garret Klement Production in 1936, including the comedy The Amazing Quest of Ernest Bliss with Cary Grant . During the so-called London Blitz , Klement left Great Britain and traveled to the United States via Mexico in May 1941 .

In Hollywood he could hardly continue to work actively in film production, only in 1947 he was entrusted with the production management of the filming of Erich Maria Remarque's novel Triumphal Arch , as Klement Remarque represented as a literary agent. Instead, Otto Klement founded the American Copyright and Management Corporation in 1941 and concentrated entirely on agent work. In 1965, together with Jerome Bixby , he developed the story template for the classic science fiction film The Fantastic Journey .
