Otto Koblank

Otto Koblank (born November 18, 1885 in Stettin , † September 22, 1956 in Lübeck ) was a German politician ( SPD / USPD ) and trade unionist . He was a member of the state parliament of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin .

Life

After attending elementary school, Koblank learned the trade of a fitter and plumber . From 1905 to 1913 he worked as a lathe operator in Stettin and finally in Wismar . From 1905 he was a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and organized in a trade union. From December 1914 to October 1917 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . In 1918 he joined the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany (USPD). In November 1918 he became a member of the Workers 'and Soldiers' Council in Wismar.

1918/19 he was a member of the USPD district board for both Mecklenburg. From 1920 he acted as chairman of the USPD in Wismar and as a board member of the branch of the German Metalworkers' Association in Wismar. He was also a member of the works council at Podeus . In 1920/21 Koblank was chairman of the ADGB local committee in Wismar. From June 1920 to March 1921 he was a member of the USPD parliamentary group in the Mecklenburg-Schwerin state parliament.
