Otto Kunze (politician)

Otto Kunze (born March 17, 1884 in Löbschütz near Leipzig , † after 1933) was a German politician ( USPD / VKPD / KAG / SPD ). He was a member of the Prussian state parliament .

Life

Kunze attended elementary school and completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and lathe operator . He then worked in these professions until 1918. From November 1918 to September 1919 Kunze was a full-time employee of the German Metalworkers' Association in Leipzig.

In 1917 he joined the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany (USPD). In April 1919 he was a delegate at the 2nd Reichsrätekongress in Berlin . From October 1919 to 1921 he was party secretary of the USPD or - since the unification of the left wing of the USPD with the KPD - the United Communist Party of Germany (VKPD) in Remscheid . In February 1921 Kunze was elected to the Prussian Landtag for the VKPD in the Düsseldorf-Ost constituency, to which he belonged until the end of 1924.

In the (V) KPD Kunze was considered a representative of the right wing. Like Paul Levi , he rejected the March campaign in 1921 . In October 1921 Kunze joined the Communist Working Group (KAG), rejoined the USPD in May 1922 and finally switched to the SPD in September 1922.

Kunze later worked in Stralsund and served from July 1923 to 1928 as Gauleiter of the agricultural workers' association based in Stettin . From 1928 to 1930 he was a municipal employee in Köslin and from 1931 to 1933 head of the employment office in Stolp .
