Löbschütz is a district of Zwenkau in the Leipzig district (Free State of Saxony ). Until its incorporation in 1974, the place was an independent municipality with the municipality part Malschitz .

Löbschütz is located in the Leipzig lowland bay, 20 km south of Leipzig on the east bank of the White Elster .
history
The dead end village of Löbschütz was first mentioned in 1307 under the name "Lobscitz". Malschütz (Malschitz), which belongs to Löbschütz, was first mentioned in 1522. The merger of the two places took place around 1700. Until 1856, Löbschütz was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Pegau . From 1856 the place belonged to the court office Zwenkau and from 1875 to the administrative authority of Leipzig . In 1952 the place was assigned to the Borna district in the Leipzig district . It was incorporated into Zwenkau on January 1, 1974.
