Otto Lindner

Otto Lindner (born April 27, 1929 in Düsseldorf ; † January 1, 2020 in Crans , Switzerland ) was a German architect and entrepreneur .

Life

Otto Lindner first learned the profession of bricklayer from 1943 to 1946 . After a subsequent apprenticeship as an architectural draftsman , he passed his high school diploma and studied architecture at the former state building schools in Wuppertal and Idstein im Taunus until 1952 and graduated as an engineer. He initially worked as the head of the construction department of Walter Rau AG in Neuss .

In 1959 he founded his own architecture office in Düsseldorf, which has been continued as Lindner Architekten KG to this day, with Otto Lindner as a personally liable partner for many years . From the architecture office, the Lindner group of companies emerged with Lindner Hotels AG in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Austria, as well as Gebau GmbH and Rheinstern-Hotel GmbH . As early as 2000, he passed entrepreneurial responsibility into the hands of his five sons.

Lindner was committed to swimming in Düsseldorf; For 17 years he was the first chairman of the Düsseldorf swimming club 1898 (DSV 98).

Otto Lindner was married to Gerda geb. Clumps; the marriage resulted in five sons.
