Otto Martwig (born February 24, 1903 , † May 1945 ) was a German football player .

Career

Martwig began playing football at SC Union Oberschöneweide at the age of 16 and was active for it until 1925. During this time he won the Berlin championship twice with the team . As a result, he took part with the team in the final round of the German Championship in 1923 , in which he was used in four games, including the final lost 3-0 to Hamburger SV .

In 1925 he moved to city rivals Tennis Borussia Berlin , for whom he was active until 1932 and again won the Berlin championship in his last season. From 1928 to 1932 he was second with the team in the Berlin championship and, as a result, also took part in the finals for the German championship. In 1930 he was eliminated with the team in the second round , otherwise in the quarter-finals. In his nine games he only managed a goal on July 8, 1928, in a 3-1 win in Hamborn against Crefelder FC Prussia 1895 with the goal to make it 2-0 in the 15th minute.

National team

Martwig played six international matches for the senior national team from 1925 to 1927 , of which he finished four victoriously and lost only one. He made his debut on June 21, 1925 in Stockholm in the 0-1 defeat against Sweden and played his last international match on October 23, 1927 in Hamburg in a 6-2 win against Norway .
