Otto Merker (politician)
Otto Merker (born June 2, 1896 in Tauer ; † after 1936) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).
Live and act
After attending school, Otto Merker joined a guard rifle battalion in 1914. In the First World War , in which he was awarded the Iron Cross II. Class and the Silver Wound Badge , he took part with the Reserve Jäger Battalion 16 and the Reserve Jäger Battalion 3. Merker was severely wounded three times during the war, which in 1917 led to his dismissal as a severely disabled person.
After returning home, Merker earned his living as an estate inspector. He finally gave up this job due to an industrial accident. He then worked as a farmer and grain merchant in Meseritz .
In the 1920s, Merker joined the NSDAP. For this he took on tasks as district manager in the Meseritz-Schwerin district.
On June 15, 1933, Merker was appointed district administrator of the Meseritz district. After he had already been a member of the Prussian Landtag from 1932 to autumn 1933 , Merker was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag from November 1933 to March 1936 as a member of constituency 5 (Frankfurt an der Oder).
Merker also held positions as the first chairman of the provincial committee of the Posen-West Prussia border mark and as faction leader of the same border mark as well as head of department IV of the Kurmark state farmers.
