Otto Otto , from Mauderode since 1650 (born January 21, 1600 in Ellrich , † October 1671 in Regensburg ) was a Braunschweig-Lüneburg Privy Councilor and administrator of the Ilfeld monastery and school .

Life

Otto Otto was of middle-class origin from the small town of Ellrich in the southern Harz. After attending school, he went to study at the University of Helmstedt , where he obtained his master's degree in philosophy in 1624. In the 1630s he entered the service of the Dukes of Braunschweig-Lüneburg and was appointed to the council of war. As such, he was sent by Dukes Christian Ludwig and Georg Wilhelm to the Congress in Nuremberg in 1649/50 to monitor the implementation of the provisions of the Peace of Westphalia. After his return, Otto Otto achieved his elevation to the imperial nobility at the imperial court in Vienna in 1650. Due to an estate in Mauderode , he was awarded the title to or from Mauderode .

In 1652 Otto Otto was promoted to court counselor and was appointed as administrator of the secularized Ilfeld Monastery , which housed a school. As such, he was also involved in the founding of the Johannishütte south of Ilfeld, with which he gave lengthy disputes with Count Johann Martin zu Stolberg-Stolberg, which were settled through a recess that bears his signature.

Later in Hanover, he was appointed Privy Councilor of Duke Georg Wilhelm. With this he went to the Principality of Celle in 1665 . He represented the Duke at the Perpetual Diet in Regensburg, where he died in autumn 1671.
