Otto Carl Caesar Schuldt (born January 30, 1877 in Altona , † February 13, 1948 in Berlin-Treptow ) was a German politician (DDP).

Live and act

After attending the community school in Altona, Schuldt learned the art and furniture carpentry trade. Later he entered the service of the Prussian State Railways as an assistant in the middle service : he was successively promoted to sub-assistant, railway assistant, goods manager, railway chief secretary, railway inspector and Reichsbahn chief inspector. As a professional official, Schuldt worked in the civil service cooperative as a board member of the largest railway construction association in Wilhelmsburg . Later he also became chairman of the civil servants' association in Wilhelmsburg.

On July 1, 1919 Schuldt became the first chairman of the Federation of German Railway Officials. Almost a year later, on June 11, 1920, he was elected first chairman of the Reich Union of German Railway Officials and Candidates. Later he also became a member of the board of directors of the Reich Association of German Railway Officers and Secretaries.

From June 1920 to May 1924 and from December 1924 to September 1930 Schuldt was a member of the German Democratic Party (DDP) in the Reichstag . In parliament he excelled above all as a spokesman for his party on official matters. Prior to that, Schuldt was a member of the Wilhelmsburg municipal council and district council deputy for the Harburg district until June 30, 1919 .

Schuldt was also a member of the board of directors of the Deutsche Reichspost and editor of the magazine Gemeinschaft (local edition Hamburg), the weekly journal of the railway assistant association ( Eisenbahnbundesblatt ) as well as various official magazines .
