Soeldner, married, was a member of the NSDAP from May 1937 ( membership number 4.293.222) and also became a member of the SS in 1937 or 1938 (SS number 277.085). Probably from 1938 onwards he acted as post office manager in the Flossenbürg concentration camp and in January 1940 became adjutant and deputy camp director in the Ravensbrück concentration camp under the camp director Max Koegel . On August 1, 1941, Soeldner was replaced in this post by Hermann Wicklein . In September 1941 he was transferred to the Neuengamme concentration camp , where he was employed as " Protective Custody Camp Leader E" to control the camp administration.
