Otto Strecker (judge)

Georg Dietrich Otto Strecker (born December 4, 1862 in Duderstadt ; † in the 20th century) was President of the Senate at the Imperial Court .

Life

After attending the Progymnasium Duderstadt and Lyzeum I in Hanover, he studied from Easter 1881 in Freiburg, Leipzig, Freiburg and Göttingen. At the end of May 1884 he passed the legal traineeship examination in Celle. Then he became a trainee lawyer after he was sworn in. The judicial service began in Hameln and he then worked in Göttingen, Uslar and Celle. From 1888 he worked as a court assessor in Alfeld and Göttingen. In 1895 he became a magistrate in Göttingen. In 1892 Strecker was promoted to district judge. In 1904 he became a district judge and was employed as an assistant judge at the higher regional court in Celle . In 1905 he became a higher regional judge in Celle. In November 1909 he came to the Imperial Court. As a judge in VII.and III. Civil senate of the Reichsgericht active. In May 1925 he became President of the VII Civil Senate. He retired on New Year's Day 1929. He was a co-commentator for property law in “ Planck 's Commentary on the Civil Code” and replaced Alexander Achilles, who died in 1900 . On October 12, 1910 was awarded the honorary doctorate by the University of Berlin. After 1933 he was a member of the BNSDJ .

family

Strecker was Protestant. He was the son of the secret medical councilor and district physician Wilhelm Strecker and Marie Beurmann. The ancestors on the father's side were pastors, on the mother's side forest masters. The great grandfather was a pastor. He married Bertha in 1889, daughter of Richard Wilhelm Dove and Karoline Nobiling. The couple had two daughters and one son. The son Walter (1890–) was a judge- martial in Berlin.
