Otto Trolldenier (born June 24, 1929 - † July 27, 2013 ) was a German soccer player who played 110 first and 19 second division games for EHW / Stahl Thale between 1950 and 1955 . With the SG EHW he won the GDR Cup in 1950.

Athletic career

In 1950, Trolldenier became soccer champion in Saxony-Anhalt with SG Eisenhüttenwerk Thale . In a promotion round, the sports community qualified for the 1950/51 season of the GDR league. Before the start of the season, the SG EHW reached the final of the GDR soccer cup . In the game on September 3, 1950, the SG defeated the BSG KWU Erfurt 4-0, Trolldenier was used as the central midfielder.

Trolldenier was also called up from the start in the 1950/51 league season. After three match days he had to take a break for several weeks and was only used 21 times in the 34 point games. During the season, the SG EHW was converted into the company sports community (BSG) Stahl Thale. 1951/52 he was used continuously in the central midfield, but was missing at the beginning and at the end of the season in eleven of 36 point games. Only in the two seasons from 1952 to 1954 he was able to play all 60 league games.

1954 the BSG steel had to relegate from the league. In the second-rate league Trolldenier was used in 19 of 26 point games. Seventh place was not enough for Thale to stay in the league because the GDR league was reduced from three seasons to one season. The BSG Stahl had to compete with Trolldenier in the third class II. GDR league , Trolldenier no longer returned to the higher class football.

In 1998, the city ​​of Thale awarded Otto Trolldenier honorary citizenship in recognition of his services to the city's football sport.
