Otto Friedrich Vossler

Otto Friedrich Vossler , from 1882 von Vossler (born October 9, 1831 in Tübingen ; † May 31, 1906 in Stuttgart ) was a German agricultural scientist, university lecturer for agriculture and director of the Agricultural Academy Hohenheim .

Live and act

From 1860 Vossler was rent officer of the Plettenberg domain near Dotternhausen in the service of Baron G. von Cotta. In 1864 he was appointed to Hohenheim as a professor representative for Eduard Hiller, who was ill, and after a year he was appointed full professor of agriculture.

In 1884 he was appointed director of the Hohenheim Agricultural Academy and held this position until his retirement in 1896.

Vossler was awarded the Knight's Cross first class of the Order of the Württemberg Crown in 1882 , which was associated with the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement ). In 1889 he received the crown of the Knight's Cross.

The Romanist Karl Vossler was his son, the historian Otto Vossler his grandson.
