Oulad Frej or Had Ouled Frej ( Arabic أولاد فرج; Central Atlas Tamazight ⵡⵍⴰⴷ ⴼⵕⵊ Wlad FRY ) is a Moroccan town in the province of El Jadida in the region Casablanca-Settat .
Location and climate
Oulad Frej is located in the gently undulating agricultural landscape of the historic Doukkala region at an altitude of approx. 135 m . The distance to El Jadida is 47 km (driving distance) in a north-westerly direction; to Casablanca it is 118 km in a northeastern direction. The climate is rather moderate for Moroccan conditions; Rain (approx. 345 mm / year) falls almost exclusively in the winter half-year.

The majority of the inhabitants are of Berber descent and immigrated from the surrounding mountain regions after the independence of Morocco. Most of the time, however, Moroccan Arabic is spoken .
economy
The region is largely characterized by agriculture, and cattle breeding also plays a certain role. There are craftsmen, small traders and other service providers in the village itself.
history
As in all Berber-inhabited areas of the Maghreb, there is no information about the history of the place before the beginning of the Protectorate period . It was probably just a village with about 1,500 inhabitants; Only after the independence of Morocco (1956) did the immigration-related population growth of the place begin.
