Outlaw is a single player - arcade game , which of Atari Inc. develops and in 1976 by Midway Games was launched on the market. The game was an answer to the arcade game Gun Fight , released in 1975 .

In 1979 a port of Outlaw for the Atari 2600 appeared , which was developed by David Crane . This version also supports a multiplayer mode .

Action and gameplay

The game is about an almost west duel in the wild west . At the beginning of the game, the player can choose one of two characters: Half-Fast Pete or Billy-The-Kid. Pete's shots are more accurate while Billy can shoot faster. The player now has the task of shooting the other cowboy ( played by the computer ) in the Wild West with the help of a revolver . There are several arenas with different obstacles, such as B. carriages , cacti, etc., on which you can compete against your teammate.

Eric Thompson of the US magazine The Space Gamer is testing the Atari 2600 version of the game and said, "This game is fun, and if you have the [Atari 2600] computer you should get it" ("This game is fun, and if you have the [Atari-2600-] computer, you should get it ”).
