Ove Franz

Ove Franz (born March 6, 1936 in Hamburg ; † May 12, 2015 ) was a Hamburg politician ( CDU ), member of the Hamburg Parliament , initially a personally liable partner and later a board member of the Wölbern & Co.

Life

Franz grew up in Blankenese . After graduating from high school there, he completed a degree in business administration at the University of Hamburg , which he completed with the examination to become a business graduate. At the age of 23 he was employed by the Blankeneser Aktionärsvereinigung Preussag-Aktionär e. V. proposed as an AR candidate for Preussag , which was privatized in 1959 .

Franz joined Bankhaus Wölbern & Co. in 1962 and headed the company from 1974 to 1998 as a personally liable partner and then as a member of the board. His commitment was in particular the development of closed mutual funds through to market leadership as well as the optimization of the interests of private investors investing in this capital market sector through a large number of supervisory board mandates.

From 1995 to 2011 Franz was President of the Hafen-Klub Hamburg eV, founded in 1965 , an association with over 700 members from the management levels of Hamburg's economy.

politics

Franz joined the CDU in 1956 and was deputy state chairman of the Young Union of Hamburg. In 1961 he was elected to the Hamburg parliament at number 32 at the age of 25 , a mandate that he held as a CDU member until 1993. There he acted as the parliamentary group's financial and economic policy spokesman. At the same time he was a management member of the CDU Hamburg as state treasurer (1964–1980) and its deputy state chairman until 1991.

Private

Ove Franz was married to Ursula Franz and had three sons.
