Ove Johansson (born March 31, 1948 in Gothenburg ) is a former Swedish American football professional player.

Johansson was born and raised in Sweden. After his time with the Swedish Navy, he went to the USA with a friend , where he worked as a football coach . After his visa for the USA expired, he returned to Sweden. But because of his girlfriend, whom he had met, he tried to get a college scholarship . In 1974 he received a football scholarship from Davis & Elkins College . He only stayed there for a year. In 1975 he followed his girlfriend April to Abilene Christian University (ACU), where he spent two years as a football college football played. As a junior for ACU on October 16, 1976, he kicked a field goal from 69 yards away. For comparison, the record in the NFL stands at 63 yards.

For the 1977 season Johansson was in the twelfth round as the 316th player overall by the Houston Oilers drafted . Johansson was the first Swede to play in the North American professional league NFL . But he never played for the Oilers. For this he made two games for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1977 , scoring a field goal from 32 yards in four attempts, and an extra point in three attempts. A rather poor balance for a professional kicker.

He still lives in Texas with his wife April, to whom he has been married for more than thirty years . Their two children, like their parents, completed their college days at Abilene Christian University.
