Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on April 24, 1998 that the film looked like a play made into a film. Downey is as convincing as a “sleazy salesman” and “shoots” with energetic dialogues like Robin Williams ; he is an "excellent" performer who controls his presence.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was a "chamber play, the layout of which [...] promised more than its execution" . The action "already runs out of air after the first act [...]" ; There are "exchanged topics related disability in the rude tone" . This seems "artificial and implausible, even if the layout of the male main character is inherently consistent" .

backgrounds

The film was shot in New York City . Its production amounted to an estimated one million US dollars . The world premiere took place on September 9, 1997 at the Toronto International Film Festival . The film grossed approximately $ 1.95 million in US cinemas. In Germany it was published directly on video in May 2000.
