biography
In 1986 Paul released the single My Favorite Waste of Time , which rose to number three in the British singles charts in May of that year and was also able to place itself three months later in Germany and Switzerland . The single is Paul's greatest success.
While the associated album As It Is… went largely unnoticed, the other releases Pleased to Meet You and One World reached lower positions on the English charts. With the song Mad About the Girl , Paul managed a last short stay in the UK charts in 1988.
Owen Paul is the younger brother of Simple Minds founding member Brian McGee . Since the end of 2011 he has performed as the singer of the Simple Minds successor band , together with his brother on drums and the long-time Simple Minds bassist Derek Forbes . Guitarist Anthony William and keyboardist Andy Gall complete the formation. The repertoire extends over the early years of the Simple Minds (until 1985), as well as a few propaganda songs.
