The Oyako Islands ( Japanese 親子 島 Oyako-shima , German 'parent-and-child islands' , Norwegian Hjonøyane , married couple islands' ) are two small islands , one of them tiny, off the Crown Prince Olav coast of the East Antarctic Queen -Maud Lands . They are located immediately north of Cape Akarui .
Surveys and aerial photographs of a Japanese Antarctic expedition carried out from 1957 to 1962, as a result of which the naming was made, were used to map it.
