Gerhard Päselt

Gerhard Päselt (born February 16, 1937 in Urbanstreben , Lower Silesia ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and district mayor of Wandersleben .

After graduating from high school , Päselt studied physics at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena until 1962 . He then worked as a research assistant at the Weimar University of Architecture and Construction . In 1967 he received his doctorate as Dr. rer. nat. From 1967 he worked as a specialist teacher for physics , building materials and building chemistry at the Gotha Engineering School.

In 1984 he joined the CDU . In 1990 he was the first chairman of the freely elected Gotha district council . From 1990 to 1998 he was a member of the Bundestag .

Since 1998 he has been the mayor of Wandersleben and from 2009 to 2014 the district mayor of the town as part of the formation of the community of Drei Gleichen .

He is active as chairman of the Thuringia regional association in the Association for German Cultural Relations Abroad
