European Youth Pétanque Championship 2008

The 2008 European Pétanque Championships for young people were held from August 8th to 10th by the Confédération Européenne de Pétanque (CEP) in Nieuwegein , Netherlands .

France became world champion in triplet with Dylan ROCHER, Vianney MOUREAU-FONTAN, Vianney MOUREAU-FONTAN and Florent COUTANSON, while precision shooting was won by the Spaniard Juan Carlos SOGORB.

Triplets

At the start were 22 triplets from the member associations of the CEP, the host Netherlands provided two triplets.

Preliminary round

Due to a defeat in the last game, the German team was only able to qualify for the quarter-finals as second in the group. Austria and Switzerland could not qualify for the quarter-finals as second or third in the group and played on in the Nations Cup.

Nations Cup

Austria and Switzerland were eliminated in the quarter-finals. The Nations Cup was won by the Czech Republic with Filip BAYER, Jiří KOREŠ, Tomáš MICHÁLEK and Jiří MRŇÁK.

Precision shooting

The German Niklas Zimmer, like the Israeli Hadar Redlinger, reached 25 points in the preliminary fight, but was eliminated due to a less scored five-point goal. The Austrian Carina Traub took 19th place in the pre-fight. The Swiss Steven Tamburini came fifth.
