Péter Biros (born April 5, 1976 in Miskolc ) is a Hungarian water polo player . He is 1.94 m tall and his competition weight is 94 kg.

Life

Péter Biros belongs to the generation of Hungarian water polo players who were able to build on the great successes of the 1950s from the 1990s. He made his debut in the Hungarian national team in 1997. In 1999 he was a member of the team that became European champions and since then he has been part of the regular formation as an outside player.

He was Olympic champion at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, in 2001 and 2003 he was third at the European Championships and in 2003 he won the world title . In Athens at the 2004 Olympic Games , he helped defend the 2000 gold medal. In 2005 he won silver at the World Championships . Also at the European Championships in 2006 and the World Championships in 2007 , he finished second with the team and received silver each. At the 2008 Olympic Games , the Hungarians won the final against the team from the United States. For Biros it was the third Olympic victory in a row.

He started at the club in Miskolc and played for Eger and Rijeka, among others. With Becsej he became Yugoslav champion in 2001. He has been with BHSE Domino since 2001 , with this club he was champion in the Hungarian professional league every year from 2002-2006.

Péter Biros has the nickname Fácán , which corresponds to the German pheasant .
