The PAUL Heavy Mover is an oversized heavy-duty tractor from the Vilshofen company Paul Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH , which was designed in 2012 primarily for use in remote oil and gas fields . Other areas of application were open-cast mines or the military.

description

The Heavy Mover is the first truck model offered by Paul Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH from Passau under its own brand name. The vehicle with the 6 × 6 drive formula was presented to the public at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2012 in Hanover after a six-month planning and construction phase . It is considered to be the largest heavy-duty truck made in Germany. The heavy mover is to be used primarily as an oil field vehicle in remote areas of Russia and the Middle East. The special equipment includes a special cold package, which enables the truck to be used without problems at temperatures of −40 ° C. The company is also considering possible uses in the military and in the special heavy-duty sector .

Rosenbauer Buffalo Extreme

Since the Paul company is a partner in the Mercedes-Benz Custom Tailored Trucks program, the heavy mover also predominantly uses Mercedes-Benz technology. The vehicle is powered by a Daimler drive train, which means that the V8 engine, the mechanical 16-speed gearbox and the transfer case come from Daimler. As an alternative, a fully automatic 7-speed transmission from Allison Transmission is also available. Slightly modified Mercedes-Actros driver's cabs are also installed in this truck model . The tires are 29.5 R 25 or 875/65 R 29 on the rear axles. The advantage of being fixated on Mercedes-Benz is the possibility of using the worldwide Daimler service network in an emergency or service case.

The Rosenbauer company offers the large tank fire engine (GTLF) Buffalo Extreme with a water capacity of 33,000 liters, which is sold on the basis of the Heavy Mover. The off-road fire fighting vehicle should be able to be used in remote fire-fighting companies.
