PDC Europe

The PDC Europe (until 2009 German Darts Corporation (GDC) ) is a professional Dartverband, the middle of 2006 by jun Werner von Moltke. Founded. Von Moltke owns the sole marketing rights of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The association has set itself the goal of promoting darts in Germany and providing a basis for a professional orientation of the sport through more television broadcasts and better prize money at the tournaments.

Events

The biggest event so far was the "Meet the Power II - Road to Purfleet" tournament, which took place in Geiselwind on November 27, 2006 and where the winner Anton Pein received a wildcard for the PDC World Darts Championship 2007 in Purfleet . Both the 16-time world champion Phil Taylor and the number 1 in the PDC rankings Colin Lloyd were present at this tournament .

In 2007 the German Darts Corporation organized three PDC tournaments in Germany, one of which was a so-called PDC major tournament with a total of 100,000 euros in prize money. The other two tournaments were so-called PDPA Players Championships , each with 30,000 euros in prize money.

In addition, PDC Europe created its own ranking list. The four best placed in this ranking list, who were not already otherwise qualified, received a starting place for the PDC World Championship up to and including 2017 .

The European Darts Tour has been held since 2012 . The number of annual tournaments increased continuously from an initial 5 to 13 in the 2019 season. Since 2016, the best 32 players from the ranking formed from this tour have been taking part in the European Darts Championship .
